Here are some review comments about this bittersweet sci fi rom com:

Traci L. Slatton’s The Love of My (Other) Life explores the psyche of a woman who has suffered romantic wounds and is searching for a soul mate. Action-packed and fast-paced, this sci-fi thriller has another side to it, a metaphysical side, and it’s colored by images of the contemporary art world.SouthernLitReview

The story is about the incredible power of love to move, not just mountains, but actual universes, and that it is absolutely never too late for a second chance. Not even if you have to employ quantum mechanics to kick your own self in the teeth….Make yourself a gift of this lovely and sweetly goofy second-chance romance.ReadingReality.net

This was a very interesting story that went back and forth from one universe to another. We learn Brian’s story, then we go back to this universe and Tessa’s story.  There are secrets, romance, art, forgery, and interesting characters.Paranormal Romance Guild

The possibility of a parallel universe is an interesting phenomenon. If such a reality existed, could you cross over and if so would you take such a chance?…As you follow these characters you are drawn to the possibility of their connection. It creates a warmth and yearning as you find yourself encouraging Tessa to choose love over logic. If you enjoy romance and science fiction you will find this a surprisingly lighthearted dose of both. I was charmed by the story although the surprise ending rattled me in a strange way…. This would be a great book for the romance reader, take it along on a trip. An easy read, you may find yourself chuckling over the antics as they unfold. The comedy and romance keep you entertained, with just that small bit of satisfaction.

This book was definitely a fun read.
And it really does make you ask the question: What would you do for the love of your life?Or rather as the description says: What worlds would you move to be with your soulmate?
I was also totally convinced that I knew how the book was going to end. I was wrong. So, the book isn’t a predictable one either!
A fun, quirky read that I’d recommend.BooktoBookReviews

David Sklar’s song UNIVERSAL LOVE

David Sklar’s song UNIVERSAL LOVE

So many people have asked me about the beautiful and compelling intro and outro music for my podcasts that I decided to play the song from which that music was taken. It’s called UNIVERSAL LOVE and it was written by David Sklar.
David Sklar is a performer and composer based in NYC. He has been writing and performing music his whole life. He’s been working hard on his new album entitled DREAMCHASER and he’s proud to say it’s finally completed.
David’s songwriting could best be described as very melody driven electro dance pop songs. He wrote UNIVERSAL LOVE for my bittersweet rom com novel THE LOVE OF MY (OTHER) LIFE, back when it was a screenplay. I love this song and I think it fits my novel beautifully. It also speaks to a certain poignant, universal slice of life.
You can find David online at www.davidsklarmusic.com He also has a Youtube channel where you can see the music videos for some of his other wonderful songs like Take You By the Hand and The Troubadour.
Without further ado, here’s the song. Enjoy.
You can go to this link to hear the song,  http://tracilslatton.com/davidsklaruniversallovepodcast.mp3

Second, the rather wonderful author, book reviewer and blogger Leslie Wright of TicToc and BlogCritics reviewed The Botticelli Affair and had some of her usual insightful comments:

Slatton has done a great job of giving us characters with emotional flaws as well as those that show them as they are in their outward lives. The heat that shimmers between them has you hoping and wondering, what is going to happen. The chance and friendships that spring up are eternal, and the depravity is deadly. You are taken on a journey that gives you a vision of art through the ages, and the men and women responsible. The action is quick and the journey is delicious.

Ms. Wright emailed to say that the review had been picked up by The Seattle Post Intelligencer, a vibrant and distinctive online news forum.

2 Podcasts and A Most Excellent Review of FALLEN

2 Podcasts and A Most Excellent Review of FALLEN

A tweet of special loveliness winged its way to me today:

@tracilslatton I apologize that it took me so long to review your novel, Fallen! Thank you for writing it. http://wp.me/p2qe77-1no

I checked the link to emsun.org and the 5 star review of FALLEN is quite wonderful:

I read it no less than four times in the past two years. Finally, feeling very guilty, I knew I was going to not only finally review the book, but also purchase my own copy. Last week, I did so.
Fallen explores the grittier side of what could happen in a post-apocalyptic setting. Lives are clearly divided into Before and After, and survivors battle with the guilt as they can’t reconcile the two.

Also, I have made two podcasts, one of me reading Chapter One of Fallen, and the other of me reading Chapter One of The Love of My (Other) Life. Right now they’re housed at archive.org; I have tried my luck at iTunes, we’ll see.

New Reviews and Giveaway of FALLEN

Reviews of Fallen.

So, over this lovely Thanksgiving weekend, with so much to be grateful for, come two wonderful new reviews.

Leslie Wright, paranormal author and passionate reader extraordinaire, wrote a warm and thoughtful review of THE LOVE OF MY (OTHER) LIFE.

Here’s a quick quote: This is a fun and romantic take on the power of soulmates. As Slatton creates her characters, she imbues them with warmth and recklessness. There is a boldness and vulnerability attached to Brian that draw you to his character.

The review is found here on her book review blog Tic Toc, and also here on Blogcritics. org for double the love. You can find Leslie on FB here and on twitter: @LeslieTicToc

The inimitable Kelly Woodward, who has a master’s in literature and was once a ballroom dance teacher, is hosting a giveaway of FALLEN and an interview of me to go along with her insightful review. Her blog is called You can read me anything.

I loved when she wrote: I started reading Fallen in the car on the way home (relax…my husband was driving, not me!), and I asked my husband to let the car idle in the driveway for a minute…I needed to finish the scene and find out what happened! The rest of the book holds up to the promise of the first pages. Slatton’s writing is smooth and efficient; she crafts scenes so easily that you can’t help but see them in your mind’s eye….

Check out Kelly’s review here and ENTER TO WIN A COPY OF FALLEN here.

Books Complete Me Unlimited

I love the title of this blogspot! Books complete me, too!

Then there are two sparkling reviews, one of THE BOTTICELLI AFFAIR and one of THE LOVE OF MY (OTHER) LIFE. BOTTICELLI even got an “Amazing” rating!

About BOTTICELLI, Julie had this to say:

While I may not exactly have an appreciation of art that Slatton clearly has, I do have an appreciation for a great story, and this one certainly belongs among the masterpieces….  Filled with action, and enough heat to singe without burning, The Botticelli Affair offers an amazing ride for any reader.

About THE LOVE OF MY (OTHER) LIFE, Julie wrote:

This is not your typical romance, and that was what I enjoyed most about this book.  Both Brain and Tessa grow from their experience and encounters, and I found that to be a great strength for this book.  As they learn more about each other, they discover more about themselves, and each gains an inner strength they lacked at the beginning of the story.
I recommend this book for lovers of romance with a little science fiction mixed in.  After all, who doesn’t want to read about moving worlds to find that one soulmate?
